Cheerleading Championships in Columbia
Saturday, fans came to cheer for the cheerleaders.
Parents and fans filled the Hearnes center to cheer on their favorite squads.
Dance moves mixed with chants and stunts drew cheers from the crowd. Most teams began practicing this summer for the competition. But, the past few weeks have been crunch time.
"It's a lot of hard work. Cheerleaders don't get a lot of credit, but they should." said two Rockbridge High School cheerleaders. "People don't realize how much work we put into it. We have to wait to get to the gym until after basketball players, so we are at Rockbridge until 10:30 at night, and this week we were at Rockbridge every single night."
There were a few falls, but the show went on and, the fans still cheered.
