City Council Could Vote on Douglass Park Improvements
COLUMBIA - City Council could vote Monday on whether to approve Douglass Park improvement.
Phase I of the project would include construction for an outdoor amphitheater, a small shelter, parking improvements and more.
Park staff said it wants to focus on increasing more recreational opportunities, more green space and a new entrance.
Construction is planned to start in the winter and finish next fall, if approved. The budget to pay for the renovation is $100,000. The money came from a 2010 park sales tax ballot.
There are also future plans to build a skate park, a handball court and more.
