Club Helps Mothers of Twins and Triplets
Mothers of Multiples, or "MOM" for short, is a support group for mid-Missouri mothers with twins, triplets quadruplets or more.
"If you have a single child and you're trying to fix dinner, you can carry it around and you still got one hand to do things with. If you've got twins and they both want to be held you're pretty much stuck, you can't do much of anything and the same thing with mine, you know, if they all want to be held, there's not much of anything else I can do" says Norma Crawford, a mother of triplets.
The group has been helping mothers like Norma Crawford for 25 years now. MOM meets monthly and brings in speakers, hosts "moms night out", has play groups with baby sitters and has an annual Christmas party.
A mother twins, Tanya Alberty says the group has been a god-send. "It provides support as far as what worked for us, trying to breastfeed two children at the same time, potty training, it does provide support to help us trouble shoot a little bit quicker."
The club has 42 members. To contact MOM e-mail them at email@example.com.
