CMU Men Lead at Eagle Open, Women in Fourth
BOONVILLE, MO - Ty Lieberman shot a four-under 67, including a 31 on the front nine, to pace the Central Methodist A men's golf team Monday at the Eagle Open. Lieberman sits in first place, while the Eagles are atop the standings by seven strokes.
Lieberman holds a three-stroke lead for first place after carding a 67 (31-36) on the Par-71 course. Austin Rapp is tied for fifth with a one-over 72 (34-38). Brad Howell (38-36) and Nathaniel Oliver (34-40) are tied for 11th after each player shot a three-over 74.
The Central Methodist women's golf team sits in fourth place after the first day of play on the Par-72 course. Kayla Esquivel is tied for 15th after firing a 90 (47-43) on the first 18 holes. Jessie Norton is in 17th overall with a first-day score of 91 (39-52). Kelli Esquivel (47-47) and Alannah Hustead (46-48) are tied for 19th after shooting 94 apiece. Ashley Spaulding is tied for 31st with a 106 (52-54).
Central Methodist's Katie Lee, playing as a medalist, is tied for 28th with a 101 (48-53).
The tournament, hosted by Central Methodist, concludes Tuesday starting at 9 a.m. at Hail Ridge GolfCourse.
