CMU Women's Golf in Third After Day One at HAAC Championships

QUINCY, IL -- Central Methodist is currently in third place after day one of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship at Spring Lake Country Club. The team totaled a 388 at the Par-72 course on Monday.

Jessi Norton leads the Eagles and sits seventh overall after shooting a 94 (47-47). Ashley Spaulding is tied for 10th after carding a 96 (46-50). Kelli Esquivel is tied for 14th with a 97 (49-48). Alannah Hustead and Kayla Esquivel are tied for 19th after each player shot a 101 (52-49).

The Eagles head into the final round 13 strokes behind tournament front-runner Baker, which finished with a 375. Graceland (387) is between the Wildcats and Central Methodist in the standings.

The final round of the tournament is scheduled for Tuesday. The first groups are slated to tee off at 9 a.m. CT.
