Cocaine, marijuana seized from Columbia home with four-year-old inside
COLUMBIA - After witnessing two short stops, which appeared to be drug deals, the Vice Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit of the Columbia Police Department, carried out a search warrant and discovered various drugs and paraphernalia at a house on Banks Avenue in Columbia Friday morning.
Three people were at the home. Michael Curtis, 58, was arrested less than an hour after the warrant was served. A woman and four-year-old child were also inside the home.
Detectives found the following at the residence:
- More than seven grams of crack cocaine
- Nearly four grams of loose marijuana
- More than three grams of marijuana rolled into cigarettes
- Rolling papers
- Three digital scales with cocaine residue
According to the Columbia Police Department, Curtis was arrested for felony distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
