Columbia area athletes sign National Letters of Intent
COLUMBIA - Multiple Columbia area athletes signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
Hickman senior guard Jimmy Whitt officially signed to play for former University of Missouri coach Mike Anderson at the University of Arkansas.
Whitt was not the only Kewpie to sign on Wednesday, as track athlete Mikayla Logan signed with Southeast Missouri State.
The team on the other end of Providence Road also faired well on signing day.
Two Rock Bridge Bruins have also decided to compete at the collegiate level.
Tennis player Phoebe Boeschen has signed a Letter of Intent to play at Missouri State University, and softball third baseman Amanda Bouchey has signed to play at William Woods University.
Rock Bridge basketball stars Cierra Porter and Sophie Cunningham are expected to officially sign on Tuesday, November 18. Both have committed to stay in their hometown and play for the University of Missouri. Both players also have older sisters who already play for Missouri. Porter's dad, Michael, is an assistant coach for the Mizzou Women's Team.
There are three other Bruins who are expected to officially sign on Tuesday, November 18.
Volleyball player Carly Offerdahl will sign with the University of Central Missouri, basketball player Ricky Kreklow will sign with Missouri State, and baseball player Connor Brumfield will sign with the University of Missouri.
Father Tolton High School made some history as well Wednesday.
Wrestler Jaydin Clayton became the first Tolton Trailblazer to sign with a division one school. He is a three-time undefeated state champion heading into his senior season.
Current Missouri wrestler J'den Cox was on hand to support Clayton.
