Columbia Calls On Artists To Beautify Traffic Boxes
COLUMBIA-- Local artist now have the opportunity to add their personal touch to downtown Columbia.
The Office of Cultural Affairs wants local artists to turn plain or vandalized traffic boxes into vibrant public art. The total budget for each traffic box is $2,000. The artist gets $1,500 plus and addition $500 for materials.
The deadline to apply for the next traffic box Feburary 6th and the only critera is that the artist be a Columbia resident.
The goal of the traffic box project is to decrease the occurance of graffiti in downtown Columbia and so far the director of the program says it's been successful.
