Columbia City Council Revisits Annexation Requests

COLUMBIA - City council members will look at an annexation on land adjacent to the Richland Road Project. This 20 acres could be rezoned for commercial development. The council will also discuss a measure to restrict dirt pile height, placement, length of time it can be stock piled and a parking ordinance.

The Richland Road Project has been cut down from 271 acres to about 181 acres. The plan used to include 300,000 square feet of retail space and office development on an additional 90 acres.

The council will not hold public hearings on the annexations, but it will take comments and proposals. The meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday.
