Columbia College soccer takes down Park University 4-1
PARKVILLE, MO- The Columbia College women's soccer team traveled to Parkville, where it played Park University in The American Midwest Conference's Game of the Week. The Cougars defeated the Pirates 4-1.
The Columbia College Cougars started off strong, as sophomore Molly Klein scored on the team's first shot on goal less than 10 minutes into the match. At about the 20 minute mark, Columbia College's Samantha Bassler blasted another ball into the back of the net, making the half-time score 2-0.
The Cougars did not ease up in the second half as Lucy Kingsley extended the lead to 3-0 with an early goal. In attempt to keep the hopes alive, Park University answered, cutting Columbia's lead to two. Their effort was not enough as Molly Klein sealed the victory for the Cougars with her second goal of the game.
Columbia College is now 10-4 on the season and 8-1 in conference play. The Cougars are back on the pitch on Saturday, where they host Harris-Stowe State at 12 PM.
