COLUMBIA - Columbia College women's basketball coach Mike Davis announced Thursday he will leave the program.

The college gave no reason for Davis' departure.

Davis has been the coach of the lady Cougars since the program was reinstated back in 2001. He compiled a 26-8 record in 2013, and took his team to the NAIA national tournament.

Davis racked up a career record of 576-284 during his 25 years as a basketball head coach.

Columbia College officials say the search for a new coach will begin immediately. Those interested should contact the Columbia College Human Resources department.
