COLUMBIA - The Cougars hosted the Park University Pirates Monday night, for the chance to advance to the AMC Tournament Championship.

The elements were not kind to the two teams, as the game needed to be pushed back due to snow earlier in the day.

Players, coaches, and even fans came together to clear snow off of R. Marvin Owens Field so that this semi-final match up could be played.

The Columbia fans that stuck it out through the cold were treated to an impressive showing by the Cougars.

Columbia kicked off the scoring in the 30th minute, getting a goal from star midfielder Molly Klein, assisted by Kelsey Mirts.

This goal was Klein's sixth of the season, bringing the score to 1-0.

The Cougars continued their offensive attack and extended their lead as defender, Abigail Meyer, headed in a corner from Molly Klein to push the lead to 2-0 in favor of the Cougars.

The second half was more of the same for Columbia, who played suffocating defense on Park the entire night, limiting the Pirates to only two shots on goal for the match.

With the game being all but decided, the Cougars put the finishing touches on the victory as Molly Klein finished her second goal of the game, pushing the lead to 3-0.

Klein finished the game with three of the Cougars' five shots on goal, resulting in two scores, adding an assist to her already impressive performance.

The Cougars will warm up after the convincing win in the cold and look to continue their 14 game winning streak in the AMC Tournament Championship against Missouri Baptist University, Thursday night at R. Marvin Owens Field.
