Columbia Council OKs Range Line Development
The council gave final approval to plans for widening Range Line from 2 lanes to 4, adding sidewalks, bike lanes and a median.
"You could sit, you know, 20-30 minutes in traffic because the roads aren't big enough to hold everybody that goes through," said one driver.
"Many of the people up there have been asking for more commercial [businesses] and more conveniences," explained Chamber of Commerce Director Don Laird. "So, you'll see more commercial [businesses] go up there."
The city council also voted unanimously to let Taco Bell locate at the intersection of Range Line and Smily Lane.
"I love Taco Bell! That's going to be another challenge, keeping my kids out of Taco Bell," said resident Amy Fox.
And, neighbors admitted construction is needed, even if it's almost in their front yards.
"You have to make accomodations for growth in Columbia," added Fox. "I'm pretty excited about it. I'm ready to move when the time is right."
