Columbia Downtown Kicks Off Holiday Shopping Season
COLUMBIA - The downtown shopping district is hosting its Holiday Shop Hop from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. About 25 businesses will provide customers discounts and refreshments for the event.
"The District" Director Carrie Gartner said Friday the event is a good opportunity for merchants and customers to socialize. She also said the area hosts two Shop Hops a year, one for the holiday season and one in the spring.
Mustard Seed Executive Director Jessica Canfield said her business has participated in the Shop Hop every year since the business came to Columbia, and it's been a success every time.
The Holiday Shop Hop is meant to help give customers an idea of what downtown offers for the holiday shopping season.
