COLUMBIA - Friends and family of Jack and Katie Hanney of Columbia will be holding a benefit in support of the Hanney's daughter, Ellie, who was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year.

The event will be located at Katfish Katy's on 8825 Sarr St. in Columbia, and will begin at 12:00 p.m. There will be food and live music playing at the venue, with a corn maze, carnival games, and photo booth for families who attend.

A silent auction will also take place throughout the day, with all proceed going toward the payment of medical expenses for the Hanney's daughter.

Ellie has an epyndymoma, which is a type of brain cancer associated with the spinal cord and spinal fluid. She has already undergone chemotherapy treatments, and is now preparing for proton therapy treatments in St. Louis.

The Hanney's also have a funding page, which was also prepared by family and friends.
