Columbia Fire Department Responds to Residential Structure Fire
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire near the intersection of Quick Sand Circle and Rain Forest Parkway in Columbia at approximately 5:45 a.m. Friday.
According to Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief Gary Warren, the fire department has five units working at the scene as of 6 a.m. Friday. There is also one chief officer at the scene of the fire.
The fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire. According to Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief Steven Sapp, no one was home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported. The original caller who reported the fire confirmed seeing flames, but crews did not see flames upon arrival.
Damage was contained to the exterior of the house near the garage doors. Sapp projects less than $10,000 in damage.
