Columbia Man Arrested in Boone County Meth Lab Bust
BOONE COUNTY - Numerous reports of suspicious meth-related purchases from area businesses led to the discovery of an alleged meth lab Tuesday night at a home in Boone County.
Boone County Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged 34-year-old Christopher S. Chaney of Columbia for manufacturing of a controlled substance after deputies went to Chaney's home around 8 p.m. Tuesday to follow up on the suspicious activity reports.
The Sheriff's Department said that upon deputies' arrival, they found a "small but active" meth lab near train tracks behind the home, and later found more components of a lab inside the home.
Deputies also arrested 53-year-old Jennifer Brozovich, also of Columbia, for obstructing a government operation after she refused to leave the area of the crime scene after allegedly being told several times.
