Columbia Man Arrested in Weapons, Tablet Burglary
COLUMBIA - Columbia police arrested a man Thursday afternoon in connection with a burglary that occurred that morning around 6:30 a.m. at Carl's Towing, on I-70 Drive Southeast.
23-year-old Dustin Lipich, of Columbia, allegedly stole "several rifles, two handguns and five tablets" belonging to AAA Insurance.
Columbia officers obtained a warrant to search Lipich's home on Clark Lane and vehicle Thursday afternoon.
While executing the warrant, officers found the stolen rifles in the trunk of Lipich's vehicle and the handguns and tablets inside his apartment.
Lipich is being charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree property damage, and felony stealing. Bond for the property damage charge is set at $500 and will be set for the other two charges at his arraignment.
Lipich was also charged with theft in October 2013 and is scheduled to appear in court for that charge June 10.
