BOONE COUNTY - A 24-year-old Columbia man has been arrested for suspicion of Internet related crimes against children.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department along with the Boonville Police Department arrested Christopher Allen Snell and recommended he be charged with the Enticement of a Child, Possession of Child Pornography and Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child. Snell was being held at the Boone County Jail Tuesday pending formal charges from the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

The investigation started when Snell's name was brought up during an interview for a non-related Internet investigation. The two agencies found inappropriate Internet chats between Snell and a 13-year-old mid-Missouri girl that they say happened in November.

Authorities said the chats consisted of the two exchanging sexually graphic photographs followed by Snell asking the victim to sneak out of her home and meet him late at night. They said he drove the victim to a nearby location where he made sexual contact with her.

The investigators seized the suspect's cell phone after an initial search warrant. After finding the sexually graphic photographs, investigators attained another warrant to seize the suspect's computer from his home.

The investigation is looking into the whereabouts of another young woman that Snell is also suspected of making contact with.

Anyone with more information on the suspect pertaining to the incident is being asked to contact the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force.
