BOONE COUNTY - A judge sentenced a 41-year-old Columbia man to seven years in prison Wednesday for possessing child pornography.

Investigators said Jarrod D. Hoffman had more than 30 videos of the sexual molestation of children, some as young as toddlers.

The investigation began in August 2013 when investigators with the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force found pornographic images they believed to be on the network of a Missouri home. Investigators determined the computer belonged to a residence on Alpine Drive in Columbia. During the execution of a search warrant in the home, investigators took additional computers and media with pornographic material.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Boone County Sheriff's Department, the University of Missouri Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
