Columbia motel residents accused of prostitution, selling drugs
COLUMBIA - The Boone County Sheriff's Department served a drug related search warrant at the Royal Inn on Interstate 70 Drive, Room 110.
38-year-old Robert Eugene McTye and 34-year-old Misty Guzman-Castro were both arrested Wednesday. McTye is accused of distribution of a controlled substance and Guzman-Castro was issued a summons for alleged prostitution.
A police statement said synthetic marijuana, packaging material and scales were located in the room. The statement said evidence suggests that the marijuana was bought in large quantities then packaged in smaller portions and sold from the hotel room.
Synthetic marijuana is a drug that attempts to mimic the effects of marijuana but can have more severe side effects.
