Columbia Police arrest suspect in Eagle Stop armed robbery
COLUMBIA - Columbia Police have arrested a suspect they said robbed the Eagle Stop convenience store at 1704 North Providence Road Monday.
Police said officers arrived at the store and an employee reported the suspect, now identified as Jajuan Antrell Williams, 30, of Columbia, was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. Williams initially fled on foot.
Upon further investigation, police said Wednesday they located Williams who had an outstanding warrant for speeding. Detectives questioned Williams at that point about the Eagle Stop robbery and Williams admitted to planning and assisting in the robbery. Williams told police he split the stolen money with a second suspect and that he had the gun used in the robbery. Police found the gun.
The second suspect has not yet been arrested. Williams was in the Boone County Jail Friday on a $4,500 bond.
