COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department issued an endangered persons advisory for two mentally handicapped people who were reported missing Sunday.

Lauren Ashley Pond, 23, was last seen at 2 a.m. Sunday by staff at an independent living home at 3506 Marquis Court. She was discovered missing at 8:30 a.m. when staff found her bedroom window open and the screen pushed out.

Pond has life threatening seizures, which require medication, but police say Pond may not have the medication with her.

The Columbia Police Department said Pond is believed to have left on her own free will with Stephen Clithero, 32.

Clithero was reported missing by his parents Saturday at 11 p.m. Police say he took his parents' 2006 gray Ford F150 with Missouri license plate 2PM 261.

The Columbia Police Department said Pond and Clithero stayed overnight at a hotel in Booneville but left the hotel at 10 a.m. Sunday. Pond and Clithero are believed to be traveling westbound on I-70 in the vehicle described above.

Pond is described as a white female, 5-foot-6 and 230 pounds with medium length blonde hair.

Clithero is described as a white male, 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds with short black hair.

Photos of Pond and Clithero were not released.

If anyone has information about the location of Pond and Clithero, they are urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573-874-7652 or any local police department where they are near.
