Columbia Police Respond to Shots Fired
COLUMBIA - At approximately 6:20 p.m. Sunday, the Columbia Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at Douglass Park in Columbia. According to a press release from the police department, no one was injured. Officers spoke with several people in the park, but most of them were not cooperative.
Two people in the park described the shooter as a black male. Columbia police said they obtained additional information about the incident, and one person was questioned and released pending further investigation.
Police referred this case to the investigative division of the department for further follow up. They are still trying to identify any witnesses or victims who were in the park at the time of the shooting.
