Columbia Police to Crack Down on Labor Day Drunk Drivers
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department said Tuesday it will join with other Missouri law enforcement agencies to crack down on impaired driving throughout the Labor Day weekend.
The department said it will join the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign to enforce Missouri's DWI laws in the next few days.
The department will set up sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturation patrols from Aug. 27 - Sep. 2.
In 2012, 230 people were killed in crashes in Missouri that involved impaired drivers.
