Columbia Public Works temporarily scales back operations
COLUMBIA - Columbia Public Works sent home all but eight members of its street crew Saturday afternoon because of the winter storm's minimal impact so far.
With the forecast calling for additional rounds of freezing rain Saturday night and into Sunday morning, a full street crew will report at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release. A full crew has been treating the roads since 7:00 a.m. Friday.
As of Saturday afternoon, Columbia Water and Light crews were sent home. Crews may return later today. However, no electrical outages or issues had been reported.
Passengers flying through the Columbia Regional Airport are encouraged to check with their airline regarding flight status.
