Columbia Public Works Warns Against Traveling Sunday
COLUMBIA - Columbia Public Works has advised against traveling Sunday due to the heavy snow. Crews have been plowing first and second priority roads since 5 a.m. and will be out until further notice. Because of the heavy amounts of snow, Columbia Public Works has the Water and Light as well as Parks and Recreation crews on standby to clear neighborhood streets.
Because of the strong winds blowing the snow across roads and the reduced visibility, Public Works is asking motorists to stay off the roads to allow plows and and emergency services to do their job effectively.
Customers can help Public Works clear the roadways by moving their cars off the street and shoveling snow to the right of their driveways.
