COLUMBIA- Starting in March, passengers at the Columbia Regional Airport will arrive 2 hours later on some evening flights.

Arrival times at the Columbia Regional Airport from Dallas will change to 9:50 p.m. and times from Chicago will change to 11:14 p.m. Currently, evening flights from Dallas arrive at 8:23 p.m. and flights from Chicago arrive at 9:13 p.m.

Airport manager Don Elliott said the decision to change the times was made by the American Airlines regional planners. Elliott said the change in times is standard in the industry and happens around every 6 months.

These changes, however, could affect transportation to and from the airport. One taxi company says the time shift may affect its airport pickup times.

"No matter what, we will be there for the time calls," Taxi Terry's operations manager Jason Kollock said. "But that's really the only way to guarantee somebody's out there because that is encroaching on the bar rush times, so we are usually pretty busy at those times."

The changes take effect on March 29.
