Tekotte won a state title at Hickman last season. In his freshman campaign for the Huricanes he started 52 games. He hit 2-86 with 4 homers and 30 RBI.

Tekotte's family, friends and former Hickman coaches are all making the trip to Omaha to watch him play on college baseball's biggest stage.

"There's several freshman on the team and when I met the guys when I first went down there. They said that their big plan was to get to Omaha. So, it's a young team and a fun team and a great group of guys and they made thier goal this year."

The Hurricanes' first game is on Saturday night at 7 against Oregon State.
