COLUMBIA - Mayor Bob McDavid is set to join American Airlines Executives at a press conference Monday morning to announce finalized plans for routes to Chicago and Dallas at Columbia Regional Airport. The meeting comes after weeks of intense negotiations and input from the public. Along with the formal announcement, city officials are expected to approve a fund of about three million dollars Columbia could use if the airline loses money.
Most of the money would come from the city, with some coming from the University of Missouri, Boone County, Cole County and Jefferson City. The event is set for 8 a.m. at Columbia City Hall.
