Columbia Transit May Not Be Available to Off-campus Students
COLUMBIA - City manager Mike Matthes said Friday the city will cut the so-called Black and Gold bus service for students in May after MU's graduation. The city has complained about the cost of the bus service for students and proposed all MU, Columbia College, and Stephens College students pay $80 a semester for Columbia Transit bus service.
Using money from city reserves, Columbia Transit started providing rides for students from campus to apartments in the south side of Columbia in 2007. Matthes said students at the three colleges would need to propose a vote to raise the fees and keep the bus routes. You can see a full map black route here and the gold route here.
