Community gathers for homecoming campus decorations
COLUMBIA - Community members and those coming from out of the area gathered in the University's "Greek Town" Friday to take part in the campus decorations for this year's 103rd homecoming.
"I'm really excited to see everyone's hard work showcased," Freshman Christy Purst said. "I know the whole Columbia community comes together for this event so I'm excited to experience it for the first time."
The theme for the year's homecoming is "Celebrating our Stripes".
Several campus organizations, including fraternities and sororities, showcased their work starting at 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Children and families took part in the skits and activities put on by the organizations.
Following the campus decorations, the homecoming parade starts at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Kick-off for the football game is 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
