Construction of Ronald McDonald House Continues on Schedule
COLUMBIA - The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri are on target for completing Phase I of construction, and is about $1 million away from raising a total of $2.6 million projected total cost of the home.
Phase I of the construction is set to be completing this spring, and has consisted of building foundation walls, electrical wiring and installing sewer and sanitary lines, while Phase II will include interior furnishing and decor.
According to executive director Melody Bezenek, construction on Phase II will continue once Phase I is complete.
"It's important to us that we only build what we are able to afford," Bezenek said. "We've been here since 1983, and we plan to have a long future."
Since it's opening, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri has provided care for more than 25,000 families of hospitalized children.
