Convicted Child Killer Accused Of Enticement
CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- A St. Louis-area man convicted of killing a 2-year-old boy in the 1970s is now charged with attempted enticement of a child.
St. Louis County authorities say 65-year-old Searl Lee Dunn of High Ridge was arrested Wednesday and charged Thursday. He is jailed on $250,000 bond and did not yet have a listed attorney.
An investigation began Monday when police were informed of inappropriate messages sent via Facebook to a juvenile. Authorities say Dunn was a friend of the juvenile's family.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Dunn was sentenced in 1978 to 150 years in prison for burning and beating to death the 2-year-old son of his girlfriend. He was released from prison in 2005.
