Cougar Volleyball Earns Straight-Set Victory

COLUMBIA -- The third-ranked Cougar volleyball team defeated visiting Lindenwood University-Belleville 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Columbia won the match by scores of 25-8, 25-6, and 25-21. The Cougars improve to 28-1 on the season with the non-conference victory, their 22nd straight win dating back to September 10th.

Trinity Ojo and Kahoriz Feliz led the Cougars with seven kills each on the afternoon. Setter Paula Ferreira led all players with 33 assists and Aleah Hayes posted a match-high 10 digs and four service aces.

Anna Laitinen led the Lynx with eight kills and six digs for the match.

The Cougars are off tomorrow before returning to the court Monday, October 22nd, for a conference match-up with 15th-ranked Missouri Baptist University. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Arena of Southwell Complex and will be the PINK OUT game for Columbia. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and can also purchase a PINK OUT t-shirt at the game's entrance. In addition, the women's basketball team will be selling decorated pumpkins for $25 each. All proceeds from the game and activities will go towards the Columbia College Relay for Life team and the American Cancer Society.
