Cougars Anihilate Scots, Stand 2-0 on Season
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Cougar men's basketball team dominated the Lyon College Scots Monday night, recording its second win of the 2011-12 season. The Cougars, ranked No. 14 in the NAIA Preseason Poll, beat the Scots 93-39 and stand 2-0 on the season.
Columbia shot 56 percent and sank six of its 16 three-point attempts. The team also outrebounded the Scots 55-33 and totaled 13 second chance points to the visitor's six.
Columbia turned Lyon's 18 turnovers into 21 points.
Four players scored in the double digits for the Cougars with Devin Griffin at the forefront with 23 points, four assists and five steals. Wendell Crowder followed with 15 points. Jordan Dressler contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds in the victory and Henrique Medeiros added 10 points.
Ben Worlow carried Lyon College with 12 points.
The Cougars will next face Avila University Nov. 12 in the Arena of Southwell Complex.
