Cougars Grab No. 16 in Latest Poll
COLUMBIA -- The Columbia College men's basketball team continued to make their way higher up the NAIA Top 25 Poll on Monday, moving from No. 18 last week to No. 16 this week. The Cougars, who wrapped up regular season play on Saturday by earning the title of regular season conference champions, are 24-6 on the season and a finished conference play with an 11-1 record. The Cougars garnered 158 points this week.
Oklahoma Baptist holds the top spot in the poll with 311 points and a 26-3 record. Shorter (Ga.) stayed in the No. 2 spot while Southern Poly (Ga.) moved from No. 5 to No. 3 this week with a 25-5 record. Robert Morris (Ill.) and Concordia (Calif.) round out the top five.
The Cougars are the top seed in the AMC tournament and receive a bye in the quarterfinals. On Saturday, March 3rd Columbia will host the winner of fourth seeded Park University and fifth seeded William Woods University. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. in the Arena of Southwell Complex.
