COLUMBIA --  The Cougar soccer squad managed to jump up to No. 11 in this week's NAIA Men's Soccer Top 25 Rating after a No. 22 preseason ranking. Columbia made the jump after a 3-2 victory over then No. 6 ranked Grand View University last week. The Cougars are 1-0-1 on the season and pulled in 396 points.

Last year's national champion Lindsey Wilson University remained in the top position with all 21 first place votes and an 4-0-0 record. Southern Poly is second, followed by Science & Arts at No. 3. Auburn Montgomery University and Rio Grande University round out the top five.

The Cougars return to the field on Wednesday, September 5 when they travel to Springfield, Ill. for their first conference match-up of the season. Columbia faces Benedictine University at Springfield in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
