Counterfeiter Behind Bars
Justin Darnell matched the description of a man seen using counterfeit travelers' checks at seven Columbia businesses. Businesses first reported the counterfeiting to the police in September.
Columbia Regency Hotel owner Michael Ebert says he's glad the police caught up with Darnell.
"I mean, we basically forfeited $200 and you know every dollar counts in our industry," Ebert said. "And the chance for me to ever really recoup that, I mean if this person is a criminal, I'm never going to see this $200. So, I hope that he goes behind bars where he belongs."
Police arrested Darnell on multiple charges, including seven counts of forgery.
