CPS redistricting will affect over 1,000 students
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Public School Board approved for redistricting changes to schools in the area.
Hickman, Rock Bridge and Battle high schools will be the biggest changes followed by new lines for the new middle school students.
Ninety high school students will be impacted and will have to find their own transportation in 2020-2021. The number of middle schoolers who will be affected is 1,161.
The areas highlighted in the yellow zones will be students attending Hickman High school. The small blue highlighted zone will be students now attending Battle High school.
The middle schools will have the most impact in the redistricting lines. The new middle school being built for August of 2020 will take up half of the south region.
This implementation strategy minimizes the number of students that would be impacted when compared to the immediate implementation strategy.
