HALLSVILLE - A large fire has broken out in Hallsville on Burg Road North.

As of 11 p.m., 17 units had been dispatched to the scene to try and fight the fire.

The fire started in the garage of the two story home, but firefighters are not yet sure what caused the fire.

Home owners called in the fire.

All people were able to get out of the home safely, but one dog did die in the house fire.

Firefighters tell KOMU 8, there was estimated $200,000 in damages to the home.

There were also two vehicles burned due to the fire.

It took about 15,000 gallons of water to completely put the fire out.

Fire trucks had to travel to a hydrant in the city of Hallsville to continously replenish the water.

At about 12:30a.m, firefighters were cleaning up the scene, and getting ready to leave.

One lutinenant, told KOMU 8, "It would take about anothe hour or two to clean up completly, especially due to the cold weather and everything freezing,"

There were about 20 firefighters, from 3 different stations working to put an end to the fire.
