COLUMBIA - Three members of the Missouri Tigers Women's Basketball team have earned regular season recognition from the Southeastern Conference as voted on by the 14 SEC women's basketball head coaches, the league announced Tuesday.

Freshman guard Sophie Cunningham has been named SEC Freshman of the Year, along with earning second-team All-SEC and conference All-Freshman team honors.

Cunningham, a Columbia native and Rock Bridge High School alumna, averaged a team-high 13.8 points per game and finished second on the Tigers in both rebounds (5.9) and assists (3.0). Overall in the SEC, she finished 10th in scoring, 11th in assists and fourth in free throw percentage (81.5).

The conference recognized her play throughout the season, awarding her SEC Freshman of the Week a record six times.

In addition, junior forward Jordan Frericks was named second-team All-SEC for the second consecutive season. Freshman forward Cierra Porter joined Cunningham in receiving All-Freshman team recognition.

Frericks led the Tigers in rebounds (7.9) during the regular season, which was good for seventh in the SEC. She also averaged 12.3 points per game, 15th in the SEC and was MVP at the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic in addition to make the All-Tournament Team.

The potent scoring and rebounding combination has led Frericks to seven double-doubles so far this season, giving her 24 total in a Mizzou uniform, which ranks second in program history.

Porter, also a Columbia native and Rock Bridge alumna, ranked third on the team with 9.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She won SEC Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 5 and was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic.

The Tigers (21-8, 8-8 SEC) are in the midst of the program's best season since 2000-01 (final record of 22-10 and a Sweet Sixteen appearance). Mizzou is the No. 8 seed in the SEC Tournament and play No. 9 Auburn (18-11, 8-8 SEC) Thursday at 11 a.m. CST in Jacksonville, Florida.
