Custody dispute cited in St. Charles Chuck E. Cheese's shooting
ST. CHARLES - A custody dispute is being blamed for a shooting inside a Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in suburban St. Louis.
Authorities say 20-year-old Aesian Anunique Clay told her boyfriend to bring a gun to her one-year-old daughter's birthday party in St. Charles Monday night. The one-year-old's father was seriously injured after being shot several times, allegedly by Clay's boyfriend.
Clay was charged Wednesday with attempted first-degree assault. Police say several others are being sought, but Clay has refused to identify the shooter.
Police say Clay was angry with the child's father because he failed to take her on a visitation day.
Clay is jailed on $50,000 cash-only bond.
