Deberg shines in Tiger victory against Austin Peay
COLUMBIA - The Mizzou Tigers volleyball team hosted Austin Peay as the first of four games the Tigers play at the Mizzou Invitational.
The Tigers dominated the Governors, winning 3-0. The first set was a close win 25-21, but the Tigers widened the lead in the next two sets, winning 25-10 in the second set and winning 25-14, in the third.
Kylie Deberg was a star with 17 kills in 3 sets. This was only 8 less than Austin Peay’s total number of kills with 25.
The Tigers beat Austin Peay all across the stat sheet leading in kills, hit percentage, blocks, digs, sideout percentage, and point scoring percentage.
The Tigers will hope to repeat this performance on Friday evening against the Northern Iowa Panthers later tonight, at 7 P.M.
Mizzou’s volleyball team is currently undefeated including a victory against number 14 ranked Michigan. After Northern Iowa, the Mizzou Invitation will conclude with the Tigers facing off against Kansas City and Boise State.
