December rain leads to floods, road closures

COLUMBIA - Some roads across mid-Missouri were closed Saturday due to flooding.

The same storm system also led Ameren to open the floodgates at the Bagnell Dam.

Most of the closures were in the southern counties of mid-Missouri as of Saturday night.

Below is a list of roads that were closed as of 3:00 Sunday afternoon, listed by county:

Boone County:

  • Blackfoot Road at the Columbia city limits
  • Gillespie Bridge at Coats Ln
  • Highway CC at Tri-City Road
  • Northampton Drive near Prescott Drive in Columbia
  • Route E at Driskel, Twin Bridges and Wilcox
  • Route H at Rangeline Road South
  • Route Y at Cedar Creek
  • Route ZZ near I70 Drive SW, near Perche Creek

Callaway County:

  • Highway 94 east of Mokane

Camden County:

  • Route BB, both directions
  • Route H, both directions

Gasconade County:

  • Route A between Routes Y and D
  • Route K at 2nd Creek, both directions
  • Route W at 2nd Creek, both directions

Maries County:

  • Highway 42, eastbound
  • Route A, both directions, one foot of water over roadway
  • Route AA, both directions
  • Route BB at Little Maries, both directions
  • Route E, both directions
  • Route Z, both directions

Miller County:

  • Route A at Tavern Creek, both directions
  • Route K, both directions, two feet of water over roadway
  • Route Z at Moose Creek, both directions

Montgomery County:

  • Highway 94 between Bluffton and Route P, both directions, high water in several places

Morgan County:

  • Route BB at Gabriel Creek, both directions

Osage County:

  • Route RA in both directions
