Dellwood Votes to Have County Take Over Policing
DELLWOOD, Mo. (AP) - The St. Louis County town of Dellwood is ending months of stalemate and debate and is dissolving its police department.
Aldermen voted Thursday to have St. Louis County police take over law enforcement duties. The decision was the first official action of the new board since three new members were elected earlier this month.
City officials began discussions with the county in November about contracting for police services. Four aldermen failed to show up for several meetings in the months after that as a way of preventing a vote.
