KINGDOM CITY - Callaway County deputies arrested two men on statutory rape charges Sunday for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in a Kingdom City hotel.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office said 42-year-old Brent Gibson (pictured left) 26-year-old Lucas Pickering (pictured right), both of Fulton, took the girl, a runaway from Jefferson City, to the hotel and allegedly supplied her with narcotics and alcohol Saturday. Deputies said the two men also had sexual intercourse with her.

On Sunday, deputies executed a search warrant at the hotel, where they said they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Deputies then took Gibson and Pickering into custody.

The girl has been released to the custody of the state Children's Division.

Gibson faces charges of second-degree statutory rape, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of third-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Pickering faces charges of second-degree statutory rape, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and supplying alcohol to a minor.

Gibson and Pickering were being held at the Callaway County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office was assisted in its investigation by the Fulton Police Department, MUSTANG drug task force, Callaway County Juvenile Office and State of Missouri Children’s Division.

Deputies said further charges could be coming.
