Derrick Washington No Longer Enrolled at MU
COLUMBIA - Although former MU running back Derrick Washington was permanently suspended from the football team, he was allowed to keep his athletic scholarship as long as he stayed enrolled. However, the Kansas City Star recently reported that he is no longer enrolled at MU. Washington's lack of enrollment means he forfeits his athletic grant and severs his last connection to the school.
MU football coach Gary Pinkel permanently suspended Washington after prosecutors charged him with felony sexual assault. Washington faces an arraignment today in Boone County Court. He will also return to court in five days for two counts of a Class A misdemeanor domestic assault. Prosecutors have charged Washington in both of the incidents.
