Developers Look at Tax Breaks
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - Big developers could get some big tax breaks under a bill going to Governor Blunt. The House gave final approval Thursday to a bill that provides $100 million of tax credits over the next several years for companies that redevelop at least 100 acres in low income areas. The redevelopment tax credit is part of a massive economic development. It also expands a tax break for businesses that add jobs with health insurance and wages at or above the local average. The bill also offers tax breaks for Missouri-made movies, alternative fuel vehicles and the sale of beef cattle. Another provision would legalize ticket scalping. Supporters said that also could help spur the economy.
