COLUMBIA -- Senior defender Allison Hu and junior forward Alyssa Diggs of the Mizzou soccer team earned spots on the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District 6 Women's Soccer First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday. Both are now eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America® Team presented by CoSIDA.

Diggs and Hu are Mizzou's fifth and sixth Academic All-District first team honorees and the first since 2006.

St. Charles, Mo., native HU, also took home Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors from the Southeastern Conference on Monday. She has started all 20 games for Mizzou at central defender and is the only Tiger field player to play every minute this season. She has helped Missouri record six shutouts allow less than a goal per game.

A native of Coppell, Texas, Diggs leads the Tigers in both points (17) and goals (eight), to go along with one assist, despite missing five games due to injury. She ranks tied for fourth in the SEC in goals per game (0.53), tied for fifth in points per game (1.13) and tied for sixth in total goals (eight).

Diggs, Hu and the rest of the Tigers play No. 11 Florida in the SEC Tournament semifinals on Friday, Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. The contest will be available live on ESPN3.
